Richmond Inno is new source of business news. It launched in July of this year and, according to its website, its objective is to “connect the city’s emerging ecosystem, producing digital media and events about the entrepreneurs, executives, startups, businesses, trends and topics that are the shaping the present and future of Richmond’s economy.”
So far, the group seems to be avoiding the traditional route of many print and online business publications that seem to focus on real estate transactions, restaurants and lists.
The origins of Richmond Inno are anything but a start-up. Richmond is the 11th market to be opened by American Inno, which, in turn, was launched by Charlotte based ACBJ, or American City Business Journals. ABCJ has added American Inno to its family of media brands that cover business, car collectors, women, lacrosse and other sports. Their objective is to cultivate a national audience of next-gen business leaders and assembling a network of local innovation expertise.
