TOM YEAGER Commissioner of the Colonial Athletic Association
Our speaker in December will be Tom Yeager, the commissioner of the Colonial Athletic Association and we will be meeting in the new offices of LeClairRyan at 919 E. Main Street.
Tom is in his 31st and final year as the only commissioner in the history of the CAA. He’s currently the longest-tenured commissioner of a Division I conference and will conclude a remarkable 40-year career in collegiate athletics when he retires at the end of the 2015-16 season.
During an era of unprecedented change in collegiate athletics, Yeager has established the CAA as one of the nation’s most successful conferences athletically and academically. He transformed what was once a Virginia/North Carolina conference into a league with a presence in many of the major metropolitan areas on the East Coast. The current CAA footprint, encompasses four of the nation’s top nine media markets.team
