At Encorepreneur’s second virtual meeting, Dr. Bob Holsworth will describe and answer your questions about the landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic in Virginia, the challenge of balancing public health with economic recovery, and the key questions confronting policymakers going forward.

Dr. Robert “Bob” Holsworth, is best known for his commentary on Virginia politics. But, confined to home by the pandemic, he's developed a daily Facebook report analyzing Virginia-based data on COVID-19 and exploring the personal and policy choices that the disease has raised. 

Bob had a 30 year career at VCU where he served on the faculty and was the founding director of the Center for Public Policy. He directed the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at the university and currently serves on the Board of Visitors.

Twelve years ago, Bob began his encorepreneurial career as a speaker on Virginia and national politics and as a principal in DecideSmart, a public policy consulting firm he established in 2008 with three senior state and local government administrators. Bob’s observances on national and Virginia politics have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The New York Times. In 2011, Campaigns and Elections magazine named him one of Virginia’s “100 Influentials”.

Dr. Holsworth received his BA from Seton Hall University and his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has one daughter and lives here in Richmond.
